It's been one year since the horrific murders of Stormer Hill, and the events of that time continue to resonate with Detective Constable Tom Nolan. In an attempt to find the second killer, known only as the Ragman, Nolan joins West Yorkshire's Murder Investigation Team.

Partnered with Jennifer Morrison, a straight-talking detective with her eye on a promotion, the two officers are assigned to track down a new killer whose victims are all found dressed like human dolls. As the investigation progresses, Nolan becomes an intricate piece in the killer's grand vision that puts his life in danger.

But with the body count rising daily and the pressure to find who the media is labeling the Doll Maker increasing, Nolan discovers more than just a series of grisly murders...

Within the human dolls, the answers he has sought for nearly a year may finally be found.

After reading Wallwork's Bad People earlier this year, I was excited to follow the male protagonist, Tom Nolan, on his next criminal chase. This is a fast-paced thriller that is under two-hundred pages and will have readers turning the pages until the very end! I managed to read this novel in ONE sitting; it was that good!

Wallwork reintroduces us to the main character, Detective Tom Nolan, and readers get to see firsthand that he is still dealing with the aftermath of Stormer Hill one year earlier. He is still on the prowl for the uncaptured serial killer that uses the alias The Ragman and in hopes of discovering his identity and capturing him once and for all, he decides to join another department nearby.

It does not take long for the department to have their next big mystery to solve; several female victims begin to wind up dead. The deaths are committed in a unique manner making them look like human dolls. While the detective begins working through his list of potential suspects, it doesn't take long for him to be back in touch with The Ragman himself.

Will Nolan solve the gruesome murders of these women? Will The Ragman finally slip up and be captured? You will have to read to find out!

* Thank you to the author for providing me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. *
