The Cake Flavored Book Tag!

I recently stumbled upon this fun little book tag on a fellow blogger's website and thought I'd participate in it myself. If you see this and would like to join in on the fun, consider yourself tagged! 😊

Chocolate: A dark read you love!

I read this book last year; it was my first book by Flynn and it did not disappoint!

Vanilla: Favorite light read!

I'm not particularly fond of rom-com's but this is one that I'm glad I gave a chance! If you are looking for a romantic comedy that isn't filled with the typical cliches, I'd suggest this one!

Red Velvet: A book that gave you mixed emotions!

I discovered Colleen Hoover thanks to bookstagram; since picking up my first book by her, Verity, I've been trying to finish more of her published works. Out of all the books I've read by her thrust far, this has been my lowest-rated one at 3.5 stars.

I mean I enjoyed the storyline and the characters of Miles and Tate, but felt like the background of Miles's past and previous relationship portions were a bit too convenient and rushed. Overall, I'd still encourage others to give it a read!

Cheesecake: A book you'd recommend to everyone!

Let's be honest, is it really a surprise to see this one chosen for this particular tag? 😂 I've been singing this book's praises since I read it back in April; it's currently my favorite read of 2020 and I've been telling everyone to add this one to their shelves! I recently did a Q&A with the author about this upcoming thriller, if you'd like to check it out click here.

Coffee: A book you started but didn't finish!

First off, I would like to state that I do plan on finishing this title. Honestly, I'm just not big on slow-burning thrillers and this title falls into that category. I've heard good things about this book and the author, so I hope to pick it back up soon and finally see what I think!

Carrot: A book with great writing!

I finished the audiobook of this title last night and WOW. The author definitely nails it with the perpetrator's manipulation skills and portraying the victim's devotion to a man who stole her innocence despite the evidence suggesting the opposite of how she perceives the experience. I highly recommend others to give this one a read!

  1. I just chose The Night Swim for my BotM!

  2. Oh I love book tags. Might have to do this one too. Loved your answers, Courtney!
