Special Guest Saturday: Meet Jess!

View her Bookstagram!

Hey everyone! My name is Jess and I'm @jessreadit on IG and Twitter. I'm a marketing student at the University of Central Florida and I currently live in Orlando, FL. I work for my local library system and I love being around books and helping our kids choose the right book to go home with.

Q: Why did you decide to create a bookstagram?

A: I decided to create Instagram because I wanted to find a community where I could express my thoughts on books I've read and to receive recommendations. It's been almost a year and it has been the best decision I've made. I've met so many friends and had many laughs with my community.

Q: Followers will know that you enjoy your fair share of YA novels, what's a book in this genre that you've most recently enjoyed?

A: I recently enjoyed The Black Flamingo and it has been my favorite 2020 release thus far. I recommend this to all of my followers. Dean Atta is a powerful writer and his book has moved me. It's a story I will never forget.

Q: What criteria must be met to rate a book five stars?

A: I'm not too critical with my star ratings but if I cannot put a book down and all I want to do is rave about it with everyone and anyone, it definitely deserves a 5 star rating from me. I'm not an emotional reader but if a book makes me tear up, I will also give it a high rating as well.

Q: Who is one author you'd love to meet one day?

A: I would love to meet Tiffany Jackson! She's one of my favorite authors and I would love to pick her mind because her books are phenomenal.

Q: What's a book that you're anticipating this year?

A: Continuing on the topic of Tiffany Jackson, her next release is my most anticipated read of the year. Grown releases in September and I am super excited for the release! It would finish my collection of all the books I have from her.

  1. Great interview as always! I'm gonna go ahead and follow Jess on bookstagram. 😊

  2. Thank you, Stephanie! I'm glad I could also introduce you to a new bookworm. :)
